Der Herr der Räder ! / The Lord of the Wheels !

Written by Matrix team at 23:26 7/3-2013

It's done. What sceptics thought was impossible is now achieved. Ryle won Germany Tour ! His best performance so far and probably forever !

Lucky boy some will say. Kind of true. To win we all need luck, but win 2 Tours (and a 3rd place) in 3 Tours this season can still be called luck ? Honnestly not. You need something more.

But as i said we all need luck. Our stroke of luck was Ryle injury before the Vuelta. He was supposed to be in top form in Spain, but fate chose a different path, and Ryle used his top form for Germany Tour.
Then, success took placed of luck. Nicholas Ryle did 2 very good time trial stages, finishing ahead of all GC contenders. And he was as regular as a clock : he ended all the stages with time gaps between 3rd and 7th place.
In the general classification he always stayed on or near the top, pushing aside all his opponents one after the others and taking once again the lead to keep him until the end.

We also wanted to congratulate the 3 following riders in the GC, finishing so close that they also could have win : Pétur Snælaugursson (NECFTW), Chris Bauwens (Team Crazy Downhillers), and Björn Eskildsen (WV De Dommel).

Eventually, Nicholas added some words :
« I just wanted to thanks all my team mates and the staff. They did a great job ! And the manager too, he revealed the best of us. Nothing af this would have been possible without them. »

And as another bonus, we reached the 3000 points for the first time ever !

  ------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicholas a également tenu à dire quelques mots:

SprintingKings at 11:14 8/3-2013
Nice achievement, why not try again next year with Ryle?

Matrix team at 09:02 8/3-2013
